Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling den gambling is not allowed. Eight casinos are based in a relatively small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent destination, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing income accrued from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of controls constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; however, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are supposedly required to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is real of many borders.

The first Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of 21, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

There are 150 slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the familiar table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 games.
